Virginia Tech | Forest competition and Carrying capacity estimation

This study is to aim at estimating and determining the carrying capacity in loblolly pine. .... Maximum basal area that can be sustained over a period of time can be regarded as a measure of carrying capacity. Spacing trials that were established by the Forest Modeling Research Cooperative with loblolly pine at planting densities of 747 to over 6,727 tree per hectare and measured annually through age 25 provide a sound empirical basis

National Taiwan University | A Review Study: the Growth of Cryptomeria japonica (D. Don) in Taiwan

Cryptomeria japonica (D. Don), Japanese cedar, was one of the most important economic species in Taiwan. However, there was not a comprehensive study currently. The objectives of this study were to systematically organize the past works and to develop a method in evaluating the long-term growth of Japanese cedar. The results would provide for the further studies of old growth forest in Taiwan….

National Taiwan University | Estimating Natural Disturbances on Long-Term Growth of Two Different Plant Spacing Experiments in Xitou

The study presented an approach to analyze natural disturbances on long-term experiments. we utilized intervention model, developed by Box and Tiao (1975), to estimate the decreasing of tree numbers
